In-Vehicle Video and Audio Recording
Driven 2 Learn driver training vehicles may be fitted with dash cameras and in-vehicle recording systems for safety, training, insurance, incident review, complaint handling, and legal compliance purposes. These systems may record external road-facing footage, internal cabin-facing footage, and audio from inside the vehicle during driving lessons, test day packages, vehicle movements, and other driver training-related activities.
Recordings may capture the learner driver, instructor, passengers, other road users, vehicle surroundings, conversations, driving behaviour, road conditions, traffic events, near misses, collisions, or other incidents occurring in or around the vehicle.
Recordings are collected and used only where reasonably necessary for legitimate business, safety, training, insurance, dispute resolution, or legal purposes. Footage and audio may be reviewed to assess incidents, respond to complaints, verify lesson events, support insurance claims, assist with investigations, improve training quality, or comply with lawful requests from insurers, regulators, police, courts, or other authorised bodies.
Recordings are not used for general public posting, advertising, or social media without separate consent, unless the footage has been appropriately de-identified and does not reasonably identify a learner, instructor, passenger, or member of the public.
Access to recordings is restricted to authorised persons who require access for the purposes described above. Recordings may be securely stored by Driven 2 Learn or by a trusted third-party storage provider. Recordings will be retained only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which they were collected, unless a longer retention period is required for insurance, legal, regulatory, safety, complaint, or incident management reasons.
Where practical and safe to do so, learners and passengers will be informed that recording equipment is in use before a lesson commences. By participating in a lesson or travelling in a driver training vehicle, the learner and any passenger acknowledge that video and audio recording may occur.
A learner, parent/guardian, or passenger may request access to personal information contained in a recording, or request correction or deletion where legally available, by contacting Driven 2 Learn. Access may be refused or limited where granting access would compromise safety, privacy of others, legal obligations, insurance matters, investigations, or other legitimate business interests.
Social Media, Marketing Photos and Videos
Driven 2 Learn may take photos or videos during or after driver training services for social media, website, advertising, promotional, and general marketing purposes. This may include photos or videos taken at the conclusion of a successful driving test, learner milestone, lesson achievement, or other business-related activity.
Marketing content may include a learner’s image, vehicle, test pass result, general location, and first name. Surnames, contact details, licence details, addresses, or other sensitive personal information will not be intentionally published without separate consent.
Driven 2 Learn operates an opt-out social media policy. This means photos or videos may be taken and used for marketing unless the learner, parent/guardian, or relevant participant advises Driven 2 Learn that they do not want their image, video, voice, name, or test result used for these purposes.
Learners and parents/guardians may opt out at any time by advising Driven 2 Learn verbally or in writing. Where a learner has opted out, Driven 2 Learn will make reasonable efforts not to capture or publish identifiable marketing content involving that learner.
Opting out of marketing photos or videos will not affect access to driving lessons, test packages, training quality, pricing, or any other service provided by Driven 2 Learn.
Where content has already been published before an opt-out request is received, Driven 2 Learn will take reasonable steps to remove the content from platforms under its control. However, Driven 2 Learn may not be able to remove copies, shares, screenshots, downloads, reposts, or cached versions held by third parties or external platforms.
